Episode 1: A Ballooning Life

This is the first of a series of documentaries entitled “The Living Room” produced by Focus Springfield. This first in the series documentary explores the death defying exploits of one of America’s most successful Competitive gas balloonists, “Mike” Wallace.

The video is based on the book, A Ballooning Life: The Nine Lives of J. Michael Wallace written by Joseph Carvalho III and published by the Republican newspaper as part of their Heritage Book publication program. Carvalho served as a content advisor to this video and worked closely with Focus Springfield’s Executive Director Stephen Cary & Director of Photography Josue A. Vazquez.

This hour-long video includes interviews of Wallace, Co-pilot Col. Ron Senez, and Congressman Neal and is enlivened by film clips and photographs of Wallace’s adventures.
